Q&A
These are my own answers, in my words. When you ask the guide one of these questions, this is what it quotes.
What do you build?
I build agents for enterprise clients. I work mostly in TypeScript, Node, React and Python, and client work has taken me through AWS Kendra and Bedrock and Azure AI Foundry and AI Search. This site is one of mine too: a guide that answers from the site's own pages, an MCP server for other people's agents, and a plain HTTP API.
What kind of role are you looking for?
I'm based in Toronto.
TODO(owner): The role, the team, and whether you want remote or on-site work. The sources don't say.
How do you work with a team?
I believe rewarding work includes collaboration, communication, education, and helping those in need. I spent time as an educator before I became a developer, and learning how to teach has helped me understand how I learn.
What did teaching give you?
I was an Associate Educator in web development at BrainStation. Through work with Canada Learning Code, the Code to Career initiative helped empower over 800 talented adults in Canada. Learning how to teach has helped me understand how I learn. While I was teaching, I also took BrainStation's Product Management course to get sharper at communicating with students and colleagues and at pitching ideas.
What's your taste in software?
Emil Kowalski's animations.dev is the bar I hold motion and polish to: expressive but tasteful, with spring physics and transitions you can interrupt. I'd rather build on the design systems the modern web already uses, like Tailwind and shadcn/ui, and restyle them, than write components from scratch.
Who's your team?
The Canucks, even in the years they struggle. I keep up with every team in the NHL, but I'm a Canucks fan at heart.
What do you do outside work?
I teach, play music, play RPGs, and like long conversations. I also follow the NHL obsessively: stats, news, fantasy hockey, and watching games. I don't play hockey, though.
